Matar Kachori


  • Maida - 2cups
  • Peas(matar)-2 1/2cup (boiled and mashed)
  • Green chillies -5-6 (chopped)
  • Ginger chopped-1 inch piece
  • Red chilli powder - 1tsp
  • Garam masala- 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water as per required
  • Oil


Take Maida flour, salt and oil in a bowl, add enough water and knead to a smooth dough.Cover with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 20 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds begin to change color, add ginger, green chillies, peas and salt, red chilli powder mix well. cook on low for 6 to 7 minutes

Remove from heat and add the garam masala powder,mix and cool. Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each portion and press to turn puris.

Place a portion of green peas in the filling centre.Bring together all sides, sealed and remove any excess dough.

Gently roll the  filled kachori again  in the circle, while ensuring that the filling does not spill out, press the center of the kachori with your thumb.

Heat oil in a kadai and fry of the Kachoris in hot oil until crisp and golden . Drain and place on paper towels.

Serve hot with Chutney
