Tomato Onion Chutney
- Tomatoes -3
- Onions - 2
- Red chillies - 2-3
- Red chilli powder -1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves - few springs
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Urad dal -1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Salt to taste
Heat oil in pan, add onions and saute until onions become translucent, then add the red chillies fry for a few seconds and remove from pan. .
In the same pan add the tomatoes cook until it becomes slightly mushy .take it off the heat and let cool,grind along with red chillies and salt necessary for a fine paste.
Heat oil in seasoning (tadka) pan Add the mustard seeds, when it crackles , add urad dal and curry leaves.When dal golden brown, pour it over the chutney.
serve chutney with Idli or Dosas
